SSC Stenographer Exam Date 2024
The officials have mentioned in the official notification that the Stenographer CBT will be conducted in October-November 2024. However, the exact date of the Stenographer exam is not announced yet.

SSC Stenographer Selection Process & Exam Details
SSC Stenographer exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Stenographer Grade ‘D’. This exam is highly competitive and is conducted in multiple stages, including a skill test in stenography followed by a computer-based examination (CBE).
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two main stages:
- Computer Based Examination(CBE):
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 questions, 50 marks
- general awareness: 50 questions, 50 marks
- English Language & Comprehension: 100 questions, 100 marks
- Duration: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe)
The CBE is an objective-type, multiple-choice test conducted in both English and Hindi (except for the English language and comprehension section). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Skill Test in Stenography: Candidates who qualify for CBE will be selected for the skill test, which is compulsory but of qualifying nature. The skill test consists of a 10-minute dictation in English or Hindi, which should be transcribed on a computer:
- Stenographer Grade ‘C’:
- English: 40 minutes
- Hindi: 55 minutes
- Stenographer Grade ‘D’:
- English: 50 minutes
- Hindi: 65 minutes
- Stenographer Grade ‘C’:
Exam Pattern
- Mode of Exam: CBE is conducted online.
- Negative Marking: Yes, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Normalization of Marks: If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts then the marks will be normalized.

SSC Stenographer Call Letter General Instructions
Candidates must print the call letter on A4 size paper. Candidate information can be seen on this page, including their exam location and roll number. Pay close attention to the information given in the call letter. If there is any error, contact the head office of the authority personally before the exam date.
The admit card for the computer based exam will be available online around 10-14 days before the exam date. Candidates have to download it from the regional websites of SSC. It is mandatory to carry two passport size photographs and a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card to the exam centre.

The admit card will contain the necessary details like candidate name, registration details, name of the exam, candidate photo, exam timing, exam center name, etc. Applicants should check that the print details are correct. If any error is found, contact the exam authority before the exam date for necessary correction.
Candidates must bring a valid photo identity proof in original along with the SSC Stenographer Admit Card print. The valid proof can be Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card, Passport, etc.

Candidates who have successfully submitted their application for SSC Stenographer exam can download their admit cards by following the steps given below:
- Firstly visit the SSC website ssc.gov.in using the link given below.
- Now on the homepage you will see the admit card link. Open that page.
- Here you will see the link to visit the website of various regions of SSC like Eastern Region, Karnataka Kerala Region, Southern.
- Western, North-Eastern, Central, North-Western and Northern regions.
- Select the option of the zone you applied for.
- This will take you to the SSC website of that particular region.
- Here again select the option of Download Admit Card.
- Then select the SSC Steno Admit Card 2024 option.
- Enter the details like Application Number, Password etc.
- Press submit and you will see your SSC Stenographer Hall Ticket 2024 for CBT on the screen.
- Download this exam hall ticket and carry a print copy of it to the examination hall.
